Got a little surprise last night - Rose was scheduled for a staging procedure today: a PET scan of her entire body and an MRI of her right femur, where the leukemia first re-emerged. Afterwards, the transplant team will analyze the images and make a determination about where we are at the moment. Spots with remnant disease will show up as bright spots on the PET scan. We're voting for zero bright spots.
She had originally been scheduled for this today, before she returned to the hospital...then it appeared it would be put off till next week, then the process was allowed to continue today. We found out at 8:30 last night. Communication is an imprecise art... and patient is a verb.
So at some point, hopefully today, we'll know a lot more about our progress. More later.
DUH...So we keep getting 'surprised' by scheduled events. It dawned on me this morning that Rose's schedule and medical records at MDA are always available online in her secure online account.
ReplyDeleteVoila! We log in and there they are - appointments through December.
As a technologist, I'm delighted. As an advocate for my wife, I'm feeling a little dumb for not having thought of it earlier. It won't be the last time, no doubt.
That's impressive tech...but, of course! I am visualizing the prize. Love~
